A. Searching
To find
books and audio visual stock in County and City Libraries
1.
Click in the box to the left of the ‘Search’ button. You don’t have to log
in.

2.
Now type what you want to find in the box.
Example - if you
want books by a particular writer just type that person’s name
3.
Now click on ‘Search’
You will now
see a list of all the items that match your search.
B. Viewing Copy
Details
1.
Click on the title (in blue) to see
details about the book and the copies.

C. Other
Options
·
‘Search history’ lists your previous
searches
·
To see fewer
records, click on ‘Refine Search’
and select a library - only records with copies owned by that library will
appear.
D. Advanced Catalogue
Search
Click on ‘Advanced Catalogue Search >>’ to
carry out more complex searches
Example - enter the
author and the title of a book to find exactly what you
want.

Library - select
your local library to search for copies in that library

Language
- select a
foreign language for books other than English, or audio visual material in other
languages.

Item Group
- select
different types of stock
–
Please
ignore any other options at this time.
Click on ‘Search’ when you have entered any details. If you change your mind click on ‘Reset’
E. Search all
Resources
For a
catalogue search and online information (such as ‘Britannica Online’)

You will see
results from the ‘Library Catalogue’ and ‘Other Sources’. Click on ‘…Results’ and follow the links to an online
article.
Click on ‘Back’ to return to
