Telescope
Astronomy
2009 is the “International Year of Astronomy”, dedicated to sharing the wonders of the universe. Early in 2009 astronomers from around the world gathered together for a launch event in Paris, with the theme “The Universe, Yours to Discover.” The International Year of Astronomy marks the first 400 years of modern astronomy which began with Galileo’s observations using the telescope in 1609.

To discover more about astronomy why not visit your local library? You will find astronomy books in the 520-529 section of the non-fiction sequence.
